Brennan+Company Architects has been practicing sustainable, smart design for many years by incorporating durable materials, 'not so big house' ideas, reallocation of space, energy efficiency and building preservation. Fifteen years ago we began rewriting our specifications to include renewable, recycled or salvaged materials and products that also provide an healthy indoor air quality. Our standard new wall construction is detailed to exceed energy requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code of 2012 and meet air sealing requirements for a super efficient home. We provide recommendations specific to each project to design more sustainably and educate our clients on making more holistic choices. Currently we are designing two Passive House homes in Maryland and New Jersey which will also be Net Zero ready and we have two deep energy retrofit projects underway in Baltimore. Combined with our knowledge of materials, site sustainability, and healthy indoor air quality, Brennan+Company creates holistic environments that are healthy for their inhabitants and for the environment. Please view the presentation we created that illustrates our holistic approach to architecture.
