D.C. Residence

This existing 2-story house in Washington D.C., was originally built in 1932. The new owners wanted to expand their square footage and called Brennan+Company to help. With no room to expand to the sides, the only way was up. The 1-story addition respects the original house’s roof and massing with an extra floor wedged between. New details include a copper roofed fish eye dormer and cementitious paneling to distinguish the old and the new.
