Located in Ellicott City, north of the historic district, this house was built in 2014 in a quasi-Craftsman aesthetic. The owners with their growing family enlisted brennan+company architects to add to their existing house in a thoughtful manner and re-envision their backyard site with two stepped terraces for hosting and living connected by a winding stone stair. Additional sitework included a bespoke grill enclosure and a stained cedar pergola, perfect for hosting family and friends. Brennan+company worked with the owners to create a new and inviting sunroom addition with a guest suite in the basement below. A second addition contains the owners’ new office with views toward the yard and landscape. A covered porch creates an inside-outside connection between the mudroom and the two new additions on either side.
