This small project consists of a 2nd floor bedroom + bath renovation of an 1840’s house in the Hyattstown historic district. The spaces were originally an open 2nd floor porch, enclosed during the eighties. The existing roof structure and height limited use and was to remain. A newly reconfigured bath and sleeping nook bring new life to the space. A japanese-style ofuro soaking tub and a built-in sleeping alcove are a cozy fit for the small space. Color play was an important part of the clients’ vision. Here the colorful modern Italian rectilinear tile is juxtaposed with the natural Vegas rock veining.
